Operation Mincemeat
Milton Keynes Theatre (UK Tour)
Review Complete
“Funny, silly and absolutely brilliant.”
8th June 2026
I never tire of this show! I saw it Off West End, I saw it at the Fortune Theatre and last night I saw it on tour at Milton Keynes! It’s a crazy, fast moving review where men play men and women, and women play women and men.
They sing and dance, and tell the story of the anonymous body that was washed up behind enemy lines to confuse the Germans into believing that the British were invading in Sardinia rather than Sicily. What I love about this show is that at the end, they pay a beautiful tribute to Glyndwr Michael, the anonymous, homeless Welshman who became Captain William Martin, the body that fooled the Germans.
The cast were excellent and it is impossible to pick anyone out specifically, although Christian Andrews singing Dear Bill was a real highlight! Their energy was enviable! Singing and dancing and changing costumes at lightning speed, they raced the audience along with them and by the end everyone leapt to their feet cheering! If I had one small complaint, it was the sound. It was very loud and on occasions the singing was slightly drowned out by the band but this didn’t spoil the enjoyment at all.
Operation Mincemeat is on at Milton Keynes until Saturday 13th June but if you can’t make this venue, the tour continues at Woking, Newcastle, Plymouth, Hull, Northampton, Nottingham, Eastbourne, Aberdeen, Southend, Leeds, Cardiff, Swansea, High Wycombe, Norwich, Dartford, Cambridge, Halifax, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Southampton, and Crawley. Do catch this show if you can, its well worth it!
