Jack and the beanstalk

Jack and the Beanstalk
Wycombe Theatre
Review Complete
“A Panto that was brilliant all the way to the top.”
14th December 2025

What a fabulous, colourful Sunday afternoon everyone spent with Jack and his friends at the Wycombe Swan Theatre! Jack and the Beanstalk is always a good pantomime for fun, spectacle and laughter and this was no exception. From the colour-changing arches to the stunning back-projected scenery, this was a hit right from the start.

Then there were the fabulous cast members lead by Scott Mills who played Mayor Mills and the incredible La Voix as Dame Trott. Her banter with the audience at the beginning of the show was hilarious! Mark Read, of boy band A1 fame, was a very handsome and dashing Jack with Matt Edwards as a funny and slightly silly Larry Trott.  Jill was played by Christina Harris who made a lovely partner for Jack and Vanessa Dumatey played a very sparkling Fairy Flora. Along with Jo Osmond as Poison Ivy, Thomas Brackley and Kelvin Griffiths playing Giant Blunderbore and a very pretty Buttercup the cow played by Anthony Craig, Florence Kindell and Emily Scott, the cast were wonderful! There was also a lovely junior ensemble team dancing in the company sections.

The audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves with plenty of shouting back at Poison Ivy and yelling that the Spider was “behind you!” There was also much merriment when one of the little boys doing Old Macdonald’s Farm insisted that on the farm there was a tarantula!

What a wonderful fun afternoon we all had! Jack and the Beanstalk runs  until Sunday 4th January so get booking now as tickets will be going very fast!
